Does Quitting Smoking Weed Cause Libido Issues such as Premature Ejaculation?

Marijuana, sometimes called weed, pot, and cannabis, is a mind-altering drug containing 400 chemicals that are responsible for making a person feel a distinct “high”.  It is made out of the stems, seed, and flowers of the hemp plant found in India. Despite it having shown benefits in the field of medicine by providing relief for people diagnosed with conditions such as AIDS and glaucoma, when consumed in large amounts on a daily basis, weed poses a threat to the person’s health.

Having realized the negative effects that this drug brings, a lot of people decided to quit smoking it. According to the story of some past users of weed, they were able to experience some withdrawal symptoms from quitting smoking the drug. Among the withdrawal symptoms enumerated such as insomnia, anxiety, loss of focus, irritability, gastrointestinal distress, and depression – premature ejaculation was the one that stirred up quite the topic among the users.

Although some past users said that they experienced premature ejaculation after quitting smoking weed, this does not remain true to other past users who quit using the drug – thus, opening a debate as to whether or not quitting smoking weed can cause libido issues such as premature ejaculation.

In some cases, yes, quitting smoking weed can cause libido issues such as premature ejaculation. Although having been proved to be mostly caused psychologically, premature ejaculation can also happen after trying to quit smoking weed. People who used marijuana every day have a high percentage of experiencing premature ejaculation. This has something to do with the effect of the chemicals found in weed such as nicotine.

The sexual process also involves the use of the brain and the nervous system and not just the sexual organs. Nicotine is a chemical found in drugs that highly affect a person’s brain, central nervous system, and peripheral nervous system. Weed is a drug that in some cases enables the body to have an increase in the production of prolactin, a hormone produced in the pituitary gland. This then affects erection, ejaculation, and orgasm and is associated with the decrease in libido or sexual desire.

Through the act of smoking weed, damage to blood vessels in the body occurs and that does not exclude the blood vessels found in a person’s genitals. Quitting the act of smoking weed and experiencing premature ejaculation is just the body’s way of trying to detoxify itself from all the chemicals that entered the body whilst smoking weed and is just trying to go back to the way it functioned before a person started smoking weed.

In conclusion, there are some cases where a person can experience premature ejaculation because of having trying to quit smoking weed but there are also some cases where this does not happen. Although a person may not experience premature ejaculation as an effect of having to quit smoking weed, this does not guarantee him or her protection from other conditions that serve as consequences of having been addicted to smoking weed. Thus, it is better to quit while still at an early stage of smoking weed or better yet, not smoke weed at all.
